Overview
Meddy is committed to safeguarding your personal and medical privacy. Meddy operates as an offline-first application. We do not harvest, monetize, sell, or transmit your private medication logs, prescription names, or medical history to remote servers or third-party advertisers.
1. Information We Process Locally
To provide reliable medicine reminders and inventory tracking, Meddy stores the following data locally on your device:
- Medication Details: Medicine names, dosage amounts, shapes, colors, intake schedules, and pill inventory counts.
- Adherence Logs: Dates and times when doses were marked as taken, skipped, or snoozed.
- App Preferences: Language selection, notification preferences, and customized navbar arrangements.
Note: All medication logs remain strictly inside your device's local encrypted sandbox (SharedPreferences & local storage).
2. Permissions Required & Purpose
- Notifications & Alarms (
POST_NOTIFICATIONS,SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM): Required exclusively to trigger timely medication reminders and low-stock refill alerts. - Storage / Photos (
READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE): Used only if you choose to attach custom pill photos or export your medication history as a PDF report. - Health Data (
Health Connect/HealthKitoptional): If enabled by you, Meddy syncs adherence data with your system health framework.
3. Third-Party Services
Meddy does NOT contain third-party advertising SDKs (such as Google AdMob or Unity Ads). Any optional in-app purchases or subscriptions are processed securely through official platform billing channels (Google Play Billing / Apple StoreKit). We do not collect or store your financial payment details.
4. Data Retention & Account Deletion Policy
Because Meddy functions offline without requiring a remote user account, you retain 100% ownership and control over your data.
How to Clear & Delete Your Data:
- In-App Reset: Open Meddy > Go to Settings > Tap Clear All Data & Reset. This permanently erases all active medications, history logs, and app configurations immediately.
- Device Uninstall: Uninstalling the Meddy application from your Android or iOS device instantly and irreversibly wipes all local application data, database files, and saved preferences from your storage.

5. Updates to This Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy periodically. Any changes will be reflected by updating the "Effective Date" at the top of this document.
